According to their website, they achieve this by bundling transactions into an off-chain computed STARK proof, which is then submitted to Ethereum as a single transaction, resulting in higher throughput, faster processing times, and lower costs. The STRK token is used for transaction fees, participation in the Starknet protocol, and governance.
