Derive is an onchain derivatives protocol for trading crypto options, perpetual futures, and spot, alongside lending and automated vault products. It runs on its own Ethereum rollup (built on the OP Stack) and pairs a self-custodial exchange with a portfolio-margin risk engine, offering both a trading interface and a low-latency API. According to the project, trades are matched off-chain and settled on-chain. DRV is the protocol's native token; holders can stake it for the non-transferable stDRV token to gain governance voting rights over the Derive DAO, and the project states that a share of protocol revenue funds recurring DRV buybacks.
