Bitvavo successfully received registration approval as a Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP) from the French AutoritƩ des marchƩs financiers (AMF), allowing Bitvavo to offer crypto products and services in the French market.
"Securing registration with the French AMF marks a pivotal moment for us. We are excited about bringing our consumer-focused offering to the French marketā, said Mark Nuvelstijn, CEO of Bitvavo. France is a very interesting market opportunity for Bitvavo: A recentĀ AMF survey on the investing behavior of French people showed that more French people own crypto (9%) than stocks (7%) or ETFs (2%).
Next milestone in Bitvavoās expansion plansĀ Ā
āThe launch in France is part of our ambition to become the leading crypto exchange in Europe. Our nearly 1.5 million European users value us as their go-to trusted and secure platform for crypto trading and investing. French customers can now start their crypto journey with usā, adds Nuvelstijn.
Securing regulatory approval in France represents another milestone in Bitvavo's strategic expansion plans across Europe. Bitvavo secured a registration inĀ Austria in November this year and received approval from the Italian supervisor in 2022. Bitvavo has also filed registration applications in other major markets.
āWe anticipate that the factors contributing to our market leadership in the Netherlands will similarly appeal to the French audience. Bitvavo is a compliance-led European crypto exchange, offering competitive and transparent transaction fees, ranging from 0.03% to 0.25%, offering more than 200 digital assets on an easy to use platform. This combination is unique in Europeā, said Nuvelstijn.Ā
